Terms and Conditions of Sale, including exchanges
and returns policy in compliance with the Distance selling regulations
2002
Delivery and Dispatch Policy.
Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that all items shown are
in stock we offer no guarantee of availability and this electronic
publication does not constitute an offer for sale. If we are unable
to dispatch your order within 10 days, we will contact you by e-mail
with an estimated dispatch date and offer you either alternative products
or the option of cancelling the order. The contract bewteen you the
customer and us the supplier is deemed to be accepted upon dispatch
of goods
U.K. Deliveries are made by standard courier service, taking between
7-10 working days. UK Deliveries are usually completed within a maximum
of 7 working days, however please allow up to 28 working days. Carrier
companies do NOT count weekends/bank holidays as working days.
International Deliveries are made by British Parcel Force, currently
taking between 7 - 14 working days, however, please allow up to
28 days. Please be aware that we cannot be responsible for the goods
once they have left the UK and that deliveries are then in the hands
of the countries delivery service agents.
Scottish/Irish and International Addresses.
Addresses in Inverness, Aberdeen, Tain and areas considered
Highland by courier companies must choose the delivery country
- 'Scottish highlands, areas North of Dundee.' Should you choose
the incorrect delivery country, i.e. UK Mainland for Scottish
highland/outlying areas,Ireland and all international addresses,
we reserve the right to debit your original method of payment
with the additional fee to provide the correct shipping cost
for your delivery area. Please see the delivery costs table
which can be found by clicking the link above 'Delivery times/costs'
, or choose the correct delivery area when you have added to
your shopping cart, and the delivery cost for that area will
be displayed.
Embroidered/printed items: Please allow 28 working days
for delivery of embroidered items.Please note that bespoke embroidery/printing
cannot be cancelled or returned for exchange. We aim to delivery
embroidered/printed goods within 10 working days, however this
cannot be guaranteed, particularly at peak periods such as Christmas/Easter.
International and Export orders Please note that the customer
is liable for any Import duties payable upon goods reaching destination
country. Please also be aware that all international orders are
sent using standard delivery and we cannot be held responsible for
the delivery of such goods once they have left the United Kingdom.
We endeavour to dispatch goods as soon as possible, but cannot be
liable for delays in deliveries to ourselves from manufacturers,
courier delivery times, acts of war, terrorism or natural disaster
or seasonal occurrences (i.e. Christmas/Easter) or delivery delays
to you our customer, due to circumstances which may be beyond our
control, e.g. Industrial Strike, Severe weather conditions, International
delivery services, acts of war, terrorism, natural disaster or seasonal
occurrences.
Should you not be available to take delivery of your parcel, our carrier
will leave a card in order for you to arrange an alternative delivery
time. The Carrier will attempt to deliver to you TWICE, after which
the parcel will be returned to us. Goods shipped using Royal mail
Recorded or Special delivery serives will have ONE attempt only, and
a card will be left at the first attempt. Recorded, courier and special
delivery items will be returned to us after 7 days have elapsed from
the date the first delivery attempt is made, and a further delivery
charge will be payable in order for the goods to be re-sent.
Shureido Gi Delivery Times: Small UK stocks are held, however
as this Gi comes direct from Okinawa in Japan you should allow 5
- 7 weeks delivery for this item. We will advise of anticipated
delivery date when we receive your order.
Specification of goods Whilst every effort is made to maintain
correct pictures and descriptions of good offered, we cannot be
held responsible for changes or amendments made by individual manufacturers,
which may be made at any time and without notice in the pursuance
of improved design/quality. Images are provided for illustration
of colour/general appearance only, for a description of the items
offered please refer to the actual description area within the shopping
area of the website.
Japanese transations: Unless you provide us with your
own translation and pay for digitising of your translation (£30.00)
then by accepting our terms and conditions of sale you are agreeing
to accept our translation. Bear in mind that each translator
can translate in a slightly different way due to Japanese dialects,
as this is a phonetic language.
100% Cotton products do have a shrinkage element. In the
event of NORMAL ANTICIPATED SHRINKAGE or Abuse/Misuse these items
WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Please ensure that these items are laundered
in strict accordance with the Manufacturers instructions.
Cancellation of orders: If for any reason you cancel your
order prior to dispatch then payment for the order will be refunded
in full. Once your order has been dispatched, you are no longer able
to cancel it, but can return it to us in an unworn, unwashed and undamaged
condition within 7 days of receipt and receive a refund of the cost
of the goods.
Please note that personalised goods
ordered CANNOT be cancelled/returned for exchange.

Exchanges
Please note that exchanges will incur a return carriage cost of
£6.00 in order to return your exchanged item. Please be
aware that we do not supply goods 'On Approval'.
If you need to return all/part of your order for size/item exchange
or refund purposes, please email Karate-Kid with details of
exchange required. PLEASE be aware that exchange or refunds
cannot be actioned UNLESS a completed returns form accompanies
the goods.You will be sent a returns form by email, which
must be completed and returned with your goods. Please follow
the instructions on the form for returning your goods and return
to the address shown on your exchange form ONLY. Goods must
be in the original undamaged packaging, and in an unwashed/unworn
and resalable condition. A charge will be levied if we accept
goods that are not as described above. We recommend using
an insured service/recorded delivery to return goods to us,
as we are not responsible for goods that do not reach us.
If you have previously purchased goods that after use become faulty,
please contact us for instructions.
PLEASE NOTE: We will forward faulty goods direct to the manufacturer
concerned for investigation. If in the manufacturers opinion the goods
have been mis-used/abused by the customer(i.e. in the case of Martial
arts shoes the wearing of these shoes outdoors on hard surfaces, or
the washing of cotton items at excessive temperatures) the goods WILL
NOT be exchanged. If faulty manufacture/workmanship is found to be
the cause of the damage then a free exchange will be made.
Please ensure that you have signed the exchange form to authorise
us to debit your original credit/debit card with the fees due.
Exchange items will not be dispatched unless this authorisation
is received.
Incorrect Delivery.
If we have delivered an incorrect item, please email us for
an exchange form and when completed return it with your goods
for exchange. We will refund your credit/debit card with the
postage cost of returning the item up to a maximum of £5.25.
Please ensure that you use either Royal Mail Parcel Post or
Recorded delivery service for returning items and advise us
of the cost/weight and service used so that we can make the
correct refund.
If you choose to use a carrier company, we will refund a maximum
of £5.25 provided that a receipt for the cost is included with
your return, or follows shortly afterwards.
Damages/shortages Please ensure that when you receive your
delivery, If the parcel is obviously damaged, write 'DAMAGED' on
the Couriers delivery note. Claims cannot be made if this is not
adhered to.
If when checking your goods against your delivery note you have
a shortage, please inform Karate-Kid Ltd of the shortage by either
Email, Mail or Fax within 3 working days of receipt of goods. If
items ordered are to follow, this will show on your delivery note
and does not require reporting. If you find a damaged item, please
inform Karate-Kid Ltd of the damage by Email, Mail or Fax within
3 working days of receipt of goods. 'To Follow' items are delivered
free of carriage charges as soon as they become available.
5b If goods are lost, damaged or destroyed after delivery to you,
but prior to title passing, the purchaser will indemnify Karate-Kid
Ltd against any loss incurred provided such loss, damage or destruction
does not result from our negligence.
Liability We cannot accept any liability for damage to property,
or injury through use of equipment purchased from Karate Kid Ltd
TITLE Title of goods remains with Karate-Kid Ltd until full
payment has been received.
Back ordered goods. All goods are subject to availability.
Back orders will be shipped as soon as available. No additional
carriage charges will be payable for back orders.
Guarantees. Goods are guaranteed to be of merchantable quality/Fit
for purpose and any guarantees that may be offered by Manufacturers
will be applied.
The contract between us is deemed to be complete upon dispatch
of goods. Goods are displayed as an invitation to treat and once
an offer has been made, our acceptance of that offer is only complete
when goods have been dispatched. We reserve the right to decline
orders for a variety of reasons, which may include:
- We are unable to gain authorisation for your credit/debit card
- We are unable to reconcile the address given against the cardholder
address
- You refuse to provide further proof of identity/address when
requested to do so
- We are unable to confirm the order as the email address given
is invalid.
- Your risk score is between 34 and 100*
- An error has been made by us in the display of pricing of goods
on our web site.
This list is not exhaustive, and should we decline an order we will refund
the original card details and where possible send a refund notification
to the email address given on the order.
Where your *risk score (Karate Kid Ltd use a risk scoring service
in the fight against credit-card fraud, and this service is widely used by banks and other financial institutions as well as internet merchants and has become an industry standard) is considered high, we will
contact you by telephone if you have given a contact telephone number
or by email, in order to request proof of ID/address details, prior
to releasing an order for dispatch.
Risk scoring commences at -31; the higher the risk score number, the higher the perceived risk in shipping goods.

Cheques:
Please be aware that cheque payments will not be accepted from
September 2008.
We are pleased to confirm that our policies are in accordance with the UK distance selling
